A Thornflinger is a specially trained soldier that specializes in the use of Thorn Batons. These warriors have very high dexterity and skill in missile weapons. Many times, Thornflingers are the first to attack during Combat. Thornflingers are employed by both the Shapers and the Rebels. Even the Trakovites have been seen breeding thorns and batons, which indicate that they may also have some Thornflinger numbers.
It is currently unknown whether the Sholai have Thornflinger soldiers.
